There is 11 nature parks in Bulgaria. Probably the most famous and well visited is Vitosha Nature Park, because of his location next to the capital Sofia. Rila Monastery Nature Park is second visited in the country – it is located within the territory of Rila National Park. Its main sight that attracts visitors is the biggest monastery in Bulgaria – Rila Monastery. Strandza Nature Park is the largest protected territory in the country. The other parks are: Belasitsa Nature Park, Sinite Kamuni Nature Park, Golden Sands Nature Park, Vratsa Balkan Nature Park, Bulgarka Nature Park, Persina Nature Park, Shumensko Plato Nature Park and Rusenski Lom Nature Park.
