pin-icon-blackStage 1 — We stay in Bansko, the gateway to Pirin National Park

Days 1–4

Pirin mountains are famous for its dramatic marble ridges, rugged alpine terrain and breathtaking panoramas. It is home to some of the country’s finest ski touring objectives. Over four days, you’ll explore the wide bowls of Bezbog, climb panoramic summits such as Polezan and Hvoynati Peak, and traverse the airy ridge of Mount Todorka, enjoying long descents through pristine alpine terrain and quiet mountain valleys.

pin-icon-blackStage 2 — We move to Govedartsi, nested at the foot of the Rila Mountains

Days 5–7

Midway through the trip, we travel north to the peaceful village close to the Rila Mountains. Here, the landscape changes completely. Rounded granite peaks, glacial valleys and frozen lakes create a different style of ski touring, with broad open slopes and spectacular summit views. The journey culminates with ascents of two of Bulgaria’s most iconic mountains—Mount Malyovitsa and Mount Musala, the highest peak in the Balkans—before unforgettable descents bring us back to the valley.

phone-icon-black Is this trip for you?

This trip is ideal for skiers looking to take their off-piste experience beyond the ski resort and discover the freedom of ski touring. You should be a confident skier, comfortable on red and black runs and in a variety of snow conditions. Previous ski touring experience is an advantage but is not essential.

Expect full mountain days of around 6–7 hours, with sustained ascents and consecutive days on skis. A good level of endurance will help you enjoy the journey and make the most of the incredible terrain. The pace is steady, with regular breaks to enjoy the scenery and adapt to the group’s rhythm.

Above all, this expedition is for adventurous skiers who value wild landscapes over lift queues, are happy to adapt to changing snow conditions, and believe that the most memorable descents are the ones earned through their own effort.
