Ski Touring Trip in Kosovo and Macedonia

Detailed Itinerary:
- The Republic of Kosovo:
Day 1: Arrival at Prishtina airport. Meet with the guide. Transfer to the town of Prizren in the foot of Sharri Mountains (1,5h). Accommodation in a hotel in Prizren.
Day 2: Sharri Mountains – Prevala. 30 min transfer to Prevalla Pass at 1500 m. Ascent up to Konjushka Peak (2571 m) on the main ridge with 360-degree panorama of the Kosovo part Sharri Mountains. Total for the day: +1100/-1100 m. Accommodation in a mountain hotel in the area.

Sharri Mountains on the border between Kosovo and Macedonia
Day 3: Sharri Mountains – Brezovitsa area. A day touring in the Brezovitsa area – the biggest ski resort of Kosovo, a remnant from the Yugoslavia period. Ascent of Crn Kamen Peak next to Brezovitsa and Piribeg Peak above the ski area. Total +1200/-1200 m for the day.
Afternoon transfer to the area of Popova Shapka in Northern Macedonia – 2.5h, accommodation in a mountain hotel for 2 nights.

Skiing down from Bistra peak in Sharri Mountains, Kosovo
- Northern Macedonia:
Day 4: Sharri Mountains – Popova Shapka. Today we`ll do a day tour in the area of Popova Shapka. Total for the day – options for +800/-800m/+1200/-1200 m. Accommodation in the same mountain hotel in Popova Shapka for a second night.

Ski touring in Brezovitsa area
Day 5: Half day touring in Popova Shapka area. Afternoon transfer to Mavrovo Lake area – 1,5h. Accommodation in a hotel for 2 nights.
Day 6: Korab Mountains – Kepi Bard Peak/Golem Korab Peak. Transfer to the border check point at 1460 m – the start point of the ascent of the peak of Kepi Bard (2617 m). In favorable conditions it is also possible to further climb the highest peak of Macedonia and Albania – Golem Korab peak (2764 m). +1100/-1100 or +1300/-1300 m total for the day. Second night at the same accommodation.

Day 7: A sightseeing day. Transfer to Skopje, the capital of Macedonia. Sightseeing walk, lunch. Afternoon transfer to Prishtina, accommodation in a hotel and a sightseeing walk.
Day 8: Departure
Required equipment:
Touring skis; ski touring bindings with ski/walk mode and brakes or straps; climbing skins; ski crampons; poles; AT ski boots – with rubber sole and ski/walk mode.
Personal Rescue Equipment – beacon, shovel, probe.
Rucksack 35-45l, water and wind proof pants and jacket with hood, 2 pairs of gloves – a tiny ones for touring and ski gloves, sun glasses, sun block, sun hat, warm hat, ski goggles, travel liner for the huts, water bottle or flask (1l), snacks, personal first aid kit.
